I just stumbled across that phrase in the law and was quite perplexed about it. Depraved indifference simply means that you see someone who is in a state of trouble or in the verge of losing his life and you have the capacity to save him but you simply did not due to many different reasons or to no reason at all. Imagine walking on the street and you see a baby crawling. A car is approaching and you see the driver is listening to the music based on the way he moves while driving. He is singing and having a really good time because of the music he hears. The car he is driving is 50 meters away and the baby is sure to get hit since he is going 20 kilometers an hour. If you were given a chance to describe what is a home for you, your answer may vary with the person beside you.
